The Veterans Entrepreneurship Task Force (VET-Force), organized in 1998, to advocate for the development and passage of Public Law 106-50, the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999, wherein Congress realized that the United States must provide additional assistance to veterans, particularly service disabled veterans, with forming and expanding their own small businesses, and thereby enabling them to "realize the American dream that they fought so hard to protect."

VETBIZ Resource Center was developed to inform and educate veteran business owners about resources available specifically for them. The site has been designed to deliver education and information in the easy-to-access format of videos, testimonials, and a large array of printable materials.

The National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs is a great resource for Veterans looking for assistance on the state level. Many state agencies of the VA provide more customized services to their local constituency and can be more accessible than the national Department.

NASE is a national membership-based organization providing resources for the self-employed and micro-businesses (up to four employees), including business, financial, health and dental insurance, and personal benefits as well as legislative advocacy.

The nation's oldest small-business advocacy organization, NSBA works closely with members of Congress and, through publications, policy forums, conferences and action alerts, keeps its members updated on legislation that may help or hinder small business growth.

The American Legion was chartered by the U.S. Congress as a patriotic, mutual-help, wartime veterans organization of the United States armed forces who served during a wartime period as defined by Congress. The American Legion was founded in 1919 by veterans returning from Europe after World War I and is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana and also has offices in Washington D.C.. The group has nearly 3 million members in over 14,000 Posts worldwide.[1]
