are there companies that seek disabled vets. for joint venture/partnerships?
Posted by casinodino on April 28, 2010I want to get into buisiness but not sure what type.I'm 80% disabled veteran. are there any companies out there that seek disabled vets for joint ventures or partnerships that i can contact?

I actually went and sought out companies in my industry that want the additional advantage of having a JV with a service-connected vet owned business, particularly if they have no other advantages when going after government work. The presence of a "disadvantaged" partner on their team is usually at the very least a great entry into discussions, if not a solid reason for them to do business with you.
Potential jv partners are looking for core competency to add value to their own business goals, so think in terms of how you make a larger partner more competitive and then research those partners in those industries
I would suggest first thinking about what type of business you would like to pursue first and whether that business will be providing products or services and then do some research about existing companies who provide those services currently. If you go to Vetbiz they list thousands of companies and can be sorted by state and service. If you are serious you need to develop a business plan and work towards establishing yourself in that industry. Once established you then can consider using your disabled status as an advantage to partner with other businesses.
