How can I get funds to start a business? I am a veteran.

Being a Veteran has little to do with funding. Lenders might be more pleasant but I doubt their terms will change much. Simply go to the bank and ask for a loan for starters. If you get rebuffed ask if they do Patriot Express Loans with An SBA Guarantee. Your close on the credit score for the amount you stated so just ask. There are also nonbank lenders like www.superiorfg.com but check rates and shop around.
