Your local chamber of commerce has detailed information available. They also have an Economic Development Director who knows about the local market. SCORE has a National Affiliate who will assist you in seeking out a franchise without any cost to you. FRANNET www.frannet.com. They know about the markets across the country.

If you want to take a look at the small business grants available, the best place to start is the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA). The CFDA lists thousands of grants from all government agencies for free. Many business grants will be geared towards minority business development or rural business opportunity grants.
