VA CONSTRUCTION BOND

I am teaming with a large company on a VA SDVOSB construction job. I can't bond the job, the large company is willing to bond the full amount. I am the prime contractor the large company would be my sub. Will this fly? Does the bond need to be in my name? I can't find that it does, I think the contract officer should only care that the job is bonded. Please advise. James
